We are looking for a Fixed Term HLTA for 1 year to join the New North Academy.

Start date:  October 2024

Contract:  Fixed Term 31st August 2025

An exciting chapter is continuing at New North Academy and we are looking to appoint a HLTA to bring their passion and creativity to our successful school. Our school is driven by our five key values - Showing Respect, Taking Responsibility, Being Fair, Enabling Success and Nurturing Community.

New North is an exciting and vibrant primary school in the heart of Islington. We boast really fantastic facilities, including an outdoor classroom, a purpose-built dance studio, sports and drama halls, equipped with professional sound and lighting and a building that provides lots of space and light to support learning and working.

We are looking for a HLTA who:

  • Is passionate about supporting and developing children to reach their potential and who believe that they can.
  • Have a secure understanding of how pupils learn.
  • Is dedicated, hardworking and will go the extra mile for their pupils.
  • Is reflective and strive to be the best they can be.
  • Value feedback and act upon it to keep getting better.

HTLA role will include:

  • Covering classes across the school, for known absence and professional development.
  • Flexibility to cover sickness absence.
  • Delivering lessons planned by teachers.
  • Giving feedback to teachers and other staff.
  • Planning and delivering interventions to support key pupils or groups of pupils, across the school.
  • Attend teacher CPD meetings.
  • Manage behaviour in an effective and positive manager.
