Start Date: January 2026, as soon as available
Elmhurst Primary School, based in East London’s Forest Gate (Newham), is a thriving and inclusive academy for children aged 3–11. Part of the New Vision Trust, the school is committed to high academic and personal standards, underpinned by its motto “little seeds, big dreams.” With an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating, Elmhurst offers a rich, engaging curriculum that celebrates its diverse, multilingual community. Pupils benefit from exceptional support in core subjects, specialist provision in music, sport, art and debating, and inspiring experiences such as Shakespeare performances and European residentials. The school also leads nationally as a Maths Hub and English Hub, supporting both pupil learning and teacher development.
We are seeking a qualified and creative Freelance Music Therapist to join our vibrant primary school community for just over half a day per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for a practitioner who is passionate about using music to support children’s emotional wellbeing, communication, confidence, and self-expression.
The Music Therapist will provide a mix of small-group sessions and 1:1 therapeutic work for pupils who may benefit from additional support ranging from pupils in EYFS to Year 6. This may include children experiencing social or emotional challenges, SEND needs, or those who would thrive with a nurturing, creative outlet.
