Newham PRUs is a highly successful, high-achieving federation of two Pupil Referral Unit Schools, delivering transformative education to children and young people of all ages from Primary through to post-16. 

The school is founded on the Nurture Principles, which are embedded in our policies and practices. 

In this role, you will work within a multi-disciplinary and trauma-informed approach and across a variety of different departments/teams; these include Safeguarding, Attendance & Welfare, Pastoral, Transition & Progression, Outreach, and Nurture. 

As part of our safeguarding team, you will be the key point of contact for safeguarding concerns in the provision, hold a caseload of students with safeguarding needs, and offer in-class support and targeted intervention. You will work closely with pastoral, SEN, and academic teams, as well as parents/carers and other agencies, to ensure the safety and overall well-being of our students is promoted. 

You must have, at a minimum, literacy and numeracy qualifications at level 2. 

A Level 3 qualification in Youth Work or a related area is desirable. 

You should be able to demonstrate significant experience of safeguarding/welfare support in an educational setting and have experience of working in either social work, education, or the youth work sector.
