Britannia Education Trust is a two-school academy trust in east London. We are looking for a
Business Manager starting as soon as possible.

The Trust has a Chief Financial Officer so the School Business Manager (who will effectively work across the two-school trust) is not responsible for budget setting.  Financial responsibility is limited to supporting and checking processes alongside the CFO and managing designated budgets. While the post holder is expected to seek out funding opportunities and manage any capital projects that may result from successful funding bids, this role is focussed primarily all operational aspects of the schools including leading and managing HR processes and procedures, managing and monitoring health and safety compliance across the two school sites, leading on the administration processes and line managing and overseeing administrative and premises staff across both schools.

The Business Manager is part of the senior leadership team and holds a key post of responsibility within the schools.  Further information about the requirements of the post holder can be found in the attached application pack and job description.

Your experience will include:

  • Working in a business environment at a senior management level – or working in a similar position in a school/college.
  • Leading a team (administration and premises), through line management, target setting and performance management reviews.
  • Experience in managing HR processes including sickness absence, disciplinary/grievance procedures and safer recruitment.
