English Hub KS2/KS3 Programme Lead

About Us:

New Vision English Hub is one of 34 DfE-designated English Hubs working nationally to improve reading outcomes across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. We are based at Elmhurst Primary School, an exceptional school in the heart of Newham. We are passionate about reading and teaching all children to read fluently and for enjoyment.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced KS2 or KS3 leader with strong subject knowledge in reading to lead our programme across North East London and Essex. You will guide Literacy Specialists, coach school leaders, and deliver evidence based training to help partner schools raise reading standards - especially for their weakest readers.

Excellent subject knowledge in how pupils learn to read and experience of teaching phonics will be essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage, coach, and train our team of Literacy Specialists to ensure high-quality support in schools.
• Quality assure Literacy Specialist delivery through targeted shadowing days and regular review of school action plans.
• Audit current reading provision in target schools, help leaders write action plans, and support pupils who struggle most.
• Evaluate school reading data and set clear target milestones alongside the hub leadership to ensure excellence in hub support for schools.
• Present the hub offer and host engagement sessions for regional partners and prospective partner schools.
• Communicate regularly with other English Hubs nationally, as well as New Vision English Hub leads to share practice and maintain alignment.

While this role will be based at the English Hub in East London, regular travel to schools across the Hub
catchment area will be required.
