Required for September 2017
Eastlea is a fully inclusive, friendly and supportive Community School where employees are valued and developed. You will want to make a real difference to young peoples’ future, be passionate about achievement and standards along with your own professional development and progression.
Behaviour is excellent. Our parents and students have high aspirations and teaching spaces are inviting and well resourced.
The school is within walking distance to West Ham, Plaistow, Canning Town and Star Lane stations and is close to the dynamic London Docklands, which can be seen from the schools’ playing field.
In the 2014 OFSTED inspection, Eastlea Community School was judged as ‘good’ where students learn well because they have very good relationships with teachers. They feel that teachers are always there to help them.
The Arts are taught in excellent, modern purpose built accommodation with access to sophisticated IT resources. This is an ideal opportunity for shaping the future of teaching and learning. We have created a curriculum, which aims to build on the achievements of students and meet individual needs. The person appointed will be committed to raising the profile of Art, Music and Drama in the school and driving standards upwards, whilst engaging and capturing the imagination of our students.
We are looking to appoint a strong, enthusiastic, energetic and creative practitioner with outstanding potential to join our already high quality ARTs team as second in charge and subject coordinator. The person appointed will be committed to outstanding Teaching and Learning, inspiring the students to reach their full potential and therefore raising student attainment.
A specialism in Art would be desirable.
Applications from ambitious qualified Teachers who are aspiring to become middle leaders are very welcome.
