Drama Practitioner (Adoption cover)
We have a great opportunity for a well-motivated and enthusiastic Drama Practitioner to cover adoption leave within an established arts team at Sandringham who are passionate about making a difference to children's lives.
The successful candidate should have experience of delivering applied theatre projects within school or community settings with children. You will be expected to teach Drama across the school from EYFS to year 6. As a Drama Practitioner you will plan, resource and deliver lessons to children, ensuring meaningful learning takes place.
Lessons will mainly be based on key topics and texts being taught by class teachers, and these will be used as a stimulus.
You will be able to implement a range of drama strategies within your teaching to enable pupils to explore characters, concepts and themes.
Pupils will have the opportunity to work towards a final outcome each term, such as a piece of writing in role, poetry or script writing.
You will create a stimulating learning environment, where pupils are supported to become confident and articulate learners; as well as fully implementing our school values, creating high expectations for oracy. You will encourage pupils to reflect on their learning and oracy skills throughout the term.
Alongside this, you will be leading and directing a group of children to support them in performing at the Shakespeare Schools Festival. You will also support the music teacher in organising the Christmas Concert.
